• The main imports are jewellery and precious metals (31%), drugs (10.7%), machinery and computers (7.2%), and vehicles (5.6%).
• Its main suppliers are Germany (20.7%), the United States (8%), Italy (7.5%) and the United Kingdom (7.2%).
• The economy of Switzerland, despite the absence of natural resources, is one of the most prosperous and developed in the world.
• The unemployment rate, as well as inflation, are particularly low and their incomes are quite high as much as their imports.
• Exports represent 123 billion CHF (80 billion euros). The main partners are Germany, France and Italy. The European Union (EU) receives 60% of exports.
• Switzerland is a member of numerous international organizations such as the UN (to which it adhered in 2002), the WTO, the IMF, the World Bank, the OECD, the EFTA, the EBRD, the UNCTAD. Numerous agreements have been finalized with other countries, such as the EU or the United States.
• As for the Corruption Perception Index of the public sector in Switzerland, it has been 85 points, so it is among the countries with the least corruption in the world.
• It is diplomatically characterized by its neutral foreign relations policy, without having actively participated in any international conflict since 1815.
• Switzerland is a multilingual confederation and has four official languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh.
